The Furniture Bank serves those in need of assistance thoughout the greater Houston area. Furniture and home furnishings are distributed to families in need thru a network of more than 70 local social service agencies and non-profit organizations.
There is a specific procedure that must be followed in order to receive our assistance. The Houston Furniture Bank is NOT authorized to distribute furnishings directly to individuals from the public. People in need of furniture must apply through one of The Houston Furniture Bank's partner agencies. Please click on the link below to view the entire public list of partnered agencies. Basically, we function as a “furniture outlet” for these partner agencies. Once they decide you are eligible to be one of their clients, a REPRESENATTIVE/CASE MANAGER will accompany you to The Furniture Bank to pick out home furnishings. Everything is done at NO cost to the clients and at a minimal cost to the agency.
Unfortunately, we are only able to provide you with the name of each partner agency. All other information about these agencies must be obtained by YOU through public records (for example: phonebook, internet, etc.). Each individual agency will have it’s own qualification and evaluation process, so you have to find one that serves your particular situation. For instance, if you’ve never been in the US Armed Forces, it’s probably safe to say you would not qualify through the VA(Veterans Association). Most will not be this obvious and will require a little more research into the agency. We hope to provide assistance to you through a partner agency in the future.
